Miner is one of the seven available jobs on Vulengate. It focuses around mining stone, ores, and smelting.
It is by far the most popular and profitable long-term job, being instantly useful for every new player from the day they join, and providing the most reliable source of large income in the late game.
Players who reach level 200 in the Miner job are given a commemorative [Miner] Tag for the accomplishment.
All job information is shown at level 1. The increase of income is by 0.1% of its value every level until level 200.

Arguably the most important tool for beginners wanting to grind the Miner job is an Efficiency 6 Pickaxe. One can be obtained through almost any Seasonal Crate and the extra efficiency level provides an essential insta-mine to many common blocks in the job. For players wanting extra ore resources, a Fortune 6 Pickaxe can also be extremely valuable. There are currently 5 in existence on the server, found in the Radioactive Crate, Festive Crate, 2021 Anniversary Crate, Sky Crate, and 2023 Anniversary Crate respectively.
Custom Enchants such as Auto Smelt, Telekinesis and Reforged can also be helpful to have applied onto a Pickaxe before beginning to grind the job. The quick smelting, instant access to resources and auto durability restoration they offer help streamline much of the job income process.
For basic armor preparations, having a helmet with the Glowing Custom Enchant applied is near essential to be able to navigate dark caves while mining. The Aquatic and Fire Resistance Custom Enchants can also be exceptionally useful when navigating for protection from flooded caverns and lava lakes underground.
For blast mining strategies, Protection 6 Netherite armor with high blast resistance is near essential for survival. To date, the best Blast Mining armor set is the Farmer Crate armor. Having access to a good supply of golden apples as well as experience bottles is also good as a safety precaution in case the explosions begin to deal too much damage, or the armor begins to lose durability and needs quick repairing mid-blast.
Having access to the /fly command is also highly recommended before attempting to Blast Mine, as quick mobility is essential to not lose the line and fall behind the payment zone.
Much like vanilla Minecraft, strip mining is an effective way of coming across ores very quickly and thereby making progress in the Miner job quickly. The insta-mine capabilities of Efficiency 6 crate pickaxes make tearing through caves in the Resource World exceptionally fast. Ores such as Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, Gold, Diamond and Emerald should be prioritized when mining in this manner as they give the most income and experience.
Mining in a badlands biome (commonly referred to as Mesa Mining) is one of the best methods of making fast money in the miner job due to gold ore's significantly increased spawn rate in these biomes. Quickly locating and mining gold becomes much easier and during income boosts high level miners can easily make upwards of $500,000 an hour with this method.
Since the update to 1.18 players relying on the Mesa Mining method of grinding miner must stay aware of their y level while grinding, as dipping too far below the bedrock will cause the Badlands biome to shift into one of the new cave biomes, thereby losing the increased gold ore spawn rate.
In preparation for a jobs income or jobs EXP boost many players will prepare the mesa biome beforehand, stripping chunks of the land out to expose as many veins of gold, lapis and diamond ore as possible. After the boost is redeemed the exposed ores can be quickly mined in succession which eliminates the wasted time mining. The more time spent preparing a biome the more effective this method becomes.
Blast Mining is one of the most profitable sources of income and experience in the Miner job, though also requiring the most set-up and being inherently dangerous. It involves lighting single or multiple lines of TNT and following their blast path for income. By digging out a 1x2 Strip Mine tunnel and filling the top line with TNT players can create an effective Blast Mine tunnel. The top line is ideal to hold the TNT rather than the bottom line as it propels the explosions upward towards more blocks as they detonate, reducing the risk of line stoppages. Once the player is ready, standing about 5 blocks away from the TNT line and shift right clicking while holding a Flint and Steel or Pickaxe will activate the Blast Mining mcMMO ability, beginning the blast path.
Biome selection is very important for this income method. The meta often revolves around the block with the lowest blast resistance, even if the base income rate of it appears lower than other options. Basalt Delta biomes in the Nether are the ideal location as the basalt that spawns there has a low blast resistance with a relatively high payout rate, though the sparsity of these biomes along with the large lava lakes they often inhabit can create problems when digging lines. Deepslate Caverns are a solid secondary option, as despite deepslate's comparatively high blast resistance, it pays much more, and is much easier to create long lasting lines within.
Depending on the situation it can be optimal to set up multiple Blast Mining lines 10 to 20 blocks apart and light multiple lines at once. Following a central line in this situation can essentially give 5x the income and experience and is crucial for making the most of the Delta biomes that dominate the meta of Blast Mining.
Often used as an extension to Blast Mining, Debris Smelting involves smelting large quantities of ancient debris in furnaces or blast furnaces, usually through the use of a 12 furnace auto-smelter system. Due to ancient debris smelting being one of the highest paid actions in the job, and the availability of debris after a nether blast mine, the two tend to go hand in hand for income.
One of the highest paying sources of income in the Miner job is mining budding amethyst blocks. The geodes containing these can be found quite easily in the Resource World by flying over oceans or exploring caves. Experienced players will often set multiple homes at large geodes before a boost to optimize the amount of money and experience made.
