How do I get started?
The wiki has a wonderful guide on picking your realm and getting started.
You can use/rtp
to get out of spawn to find a place to build.
I can't connect to the server!
There are a few issues that can cause someone to be unable to connect to the server. If your issue isn't listed below, please make a#support
ticket.
- The authentication servers are currently not reachable.
This can occur when Microsoft's account authentication servers go down, either for maintenance or due to an error. This is not a Vulengate issue, and usually affects all the servers in a player's server list.- Timed out
This error can occur for a number of reasons. The most common for a Vulengate player is attempting to connect when the server is down.
The server is down! When will it be back?
Occasionally, a realm or the entire server will crash or be taken down for maintenance reasons.
You can check#notice-board
for update ETAs and#active-issues
for crash errors.
I'm being kicked for a VPN, but I'm not using one!
Occasionally, our anti-VPN plugin will tag a user as using a VPN, even when they may not be. This pops up frequently for individuals on university residence internet connections.
- If you are being falsely kicked for a VPN, please make a
#support
ticket so we can assist you in getting back on the server.
What is the server IP address?
play.vulengate.com is the main IP used to connect to Vulengate.
In the event of connection issues with the main IP you can also connect using relay5.vulengate.com
What version of Minecraft is Vulengate on?
Vulengate is currently on Minecraft version 1.20.4.
Can I use modifications? What mods are allowed?
Some modifications are allowed for use on Vulengate.
- Modifications that are not permitted include autoclickers, x-ray texture packs, killaura, and taking advantage of any features of hacked clients. For a more extensive list of allowed and forbidden mods, please see here: Modifications
- Litematica is permitted on the server, but the EasyPlace feature must be turned off.
- Vivecraft (VR Connection) may be used on the server, but usage of the teleportation feature is not permitted.
- Map mods are permitted on the server so long as they do not map caves.
If you are unsure if a mod you would like to use is allowed or not, please make a #support ticket or contact a staff member. It is always safer to ask first.
How do I make a Town?
Any player is welcome and encouraged to make a town, but there are conditions that need to be met in order to achieve an official/warp
under the/towns
menu. Check the Towns page for more info.
How do I make a Player Warp?
Player warps can be made by any player, and as you rank up, you can unlock slots to set more.
- To set a Player Warp, stand in your desired location and use the command
/pw set [name]
- Player warps cost $100,000 per month to maintain. The rent is taken monthly on the date the pw was set.
How do I appeal a punishment?
If you would like to appeal a punishment, it must be done through the forums. We are not able to accept appeals through Discord tickets.
- Make an account on the forums. Make sure you make this account with an email you have access to.
- Accept the verification email sent to your inbox.
- Go to Submit an Appeal once your account has been verified.
- Click "Post Thread", and make the title "[Your Username] Ban Appeal".
- Fill out the main body using the format from the Appeal Format.
- Post the appeal, and wait for the mod that punished you to reply. This may take some time, depending on staff availability.
How do I apply for staff?
Occasionally, applications will open to allow players to apply to join the staff team. These application periods are announced in the#notice-board
Discord channel, and last for approximately one week.
What are Wandering Minions?
Wandering Minions are occasionally added to the server during limited-time boss events. They have a chance to drop a boss egg for the ongoing seasonal crate boss.
- You can see when a minion is going to spawn next by using
/b randomspawns
- To disable Wandering Minions spawning entirely, use
/b toggleminions
What's the difference between Miner and Mining?
- Miner is one of the seven available Jobs on Vulengate that pays for breaking blocks.
- Mining is the mcMMO skill of a similar name that provides bonus drops and abilities as it levels up.
How do I claim my job tag?
Once level 200 has been reached in the respective job its tag can be claimed through /redeemtags
/redeemtags is currently not functioning as intended. Please make a #support ticket with a screenshot of your job level in order to have the related tag added to your account.
I need to report a sensitive or private issue.
If a player harasses you, or crosses a line that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please file an anonymous report to our C-Mods using the Player Report Form.
- Information submitted in this form is confidential and not shared outside the community moderator team.
I need to report the actions of a staff member.
If you need to report a staff member for any reason, please contact a higher staff member, such as a Senior Moderator or Admin.
I lost/salvaged an item!
If you lose an item either reach out to a staff member in-game or make a#support
ticket in the Discord. We will need the following information from you:
- What your username is and the realm you are on.
- When the item was lost/destroyed.
- How the item was lost/destroyed (grindstone, /disposal or /trash, grindstone, etc) if known.
- What item was lost/destroyed (material, name, crate if applicable)
We can then work on getting the item replaced for you. This may take a little while, depending on staff availability, but you do not need to stay online to get your item back.
I didn't recieve an auction house item!
Purchased items need to be claimed before they appear in your inventory. This can be done in the bottom right corner of the/ah
GUI, where the purchased items menu shows up as an ender chest beside the expired auctions menu.
I didn't get my keys!
If your inventory is full when you vote or otherwise recieve keys, you may need to check/cr claim
to collect your rewards.
- When voting we recommend leaving the vote site open until the key is sent to your inventory.
- If you are still unable to vote on a website you may be able to close the page and try again using mobile data.
- Offline voting carries its own risks, alongside possibly not receiving keys. You will also lose keys if you log into or vote on the Hub server as opposed to a specific realm.
The vote sites are not associated with the Vulengate staff team. We are unfortunately not able to compensate lost keys or vote points.
I didn't recieve my items from the store!
It may take up to 15 minutes for items purchased from the Vulengate online store to appear in your inventory.
- Joining the hub server and reconnecting to the realm you purchased the items on may cause the items to appear, especially in the case of cosmetics.
- If this time-frame has passed and you still have not recieved your purchase, please open a
#support
ticket with your transaction ID that was sent to the email receipt.
My cluescroll isn't counting my progress!
There are various reasons progress may not be tracked on a daily cluescroll.
- Right-Click while holding the scroll to check if it is expired. If the scroll disappears it has expired and can no longer be worked on.
- If the scroll is still unexpired, another scroll or clue may be counting the progress instead. Clues such as "Break [x] Blocks" and "Break [amount] of [block]" will conflict, with the former taking priority over the latter- even if it's on a different scroll. Please complete these clues, or opt to only have one scroll in your inventory at a time.
If your scroll continues to not count your progress, please create a
#support
ticket or speak to a staff member.
My custom enchants aren't working!
This can usually be fixed by using the/reapply
command.
- If an enchant continues to not function as intended, please create a
#support
ticket.- This does not apply to enchants such as Autosmelt, Shatter, and Telekinesis, as those enchantments are disabled intentionally at this time.
How do I find my local logs?
With some issues, we may require the local logs from your device. This could be to verify a Black Market win, or to report a player for inappropriate conduct, among other things.
- If your game is currently open, you can press escape, then the Resource Packs button, then Open Folder. The 'logs' folder will be under here.
- On Windows devices, press the Windows key + R key and enter
%appdata%.minecraft
into the window that appears. You can then open the logs folder.- On Mac, click on Go in the top left, then Go to Folder. Enter
~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft/bin
. You can then open the logs folder.Your log file will be named latest if it is the most recent log, or [year]-[month]-[day]-1.log.gz if it is from another day. This file will be a regular text file that will open in Notepad (or an equivalent program). You can use ctrl/command + F to search for a specific keyword. If you find sorting through so much text intimidating, we are willing to provide help in a
#support
ticket.

#changelog
How do I post in #player-events?
The role you need to have access in the#player-events
channel is called Player Events.
- If you want to announce an event you're hosting, like a build competition or art competition, please make a β
#support
ticket and ask for the role. Provide a summary of your event so we can approve it.- If you want to host a giveaway, please create a

How do I make a suggestion?
We welcome suggestions from all players about changes, new features, or content they want to see on Vulengate. These suggestions can be made with a command used in#suggestion-discussion
, where it will then pop up in the#suggestions
channel.
- When making a suggestion, please start with the related category it falls under.
- Format 1:
;suggest [category]: [idea]
- Format 2:
/suggestion suggest content:[category]: [idea]
- Example suggestion:
;suggest Crates: New Years crate!
We suggest searching your idea in the
#suggestions
channel before suggesting it just in the event that it has been suggested before. Please do not suggest fixes or updates (i.e. "fix this bug" type suggestions) as these are better suited for a bug report as created in#bug-reports
- The twelve suggestion categories are:
- Bosses Cluescrolls Crates Discord Events Gameplay Jobs Markets Plugins Store Wiki Social Media
Different staff members will provide feedback for different categories of suggestions. Not every suggestion will necessarily receive explicit feedback, but every suggestion is read by the team.
