For $100k a month, you can buy a personal warp that lets anyone teleport to your claim with /pw. Many players have built their own shopping centres with plots for others to rent. This is similar to the server Market, but there are a few differences:
Markets are managed by staff. If your plot expires while you’re inactive, staff will clear it and return all your items to you.
You can rent by the day or pay in one go up to 28 days. It goes directly to the server so you won’t lose track or need to save proof.
You fully own and control your plot. It doesn’t rely on another player’s claim.
For buyers, rather than dozens of PWs, the Market is a single warp with centralised shops. Market plots are clearly visible and can be teleported to individually.
The /qs find <item> command covers the whole area of the market so you can search for what you need from the warp point.
Staff will check plots every month to ensure they have the minimum amount of stock. If you pass, you will start a warning-free streak and staff will place a star by your plot. Stars signal to buyers that your shop is reliable and established. Your first star is at a 2 month streak without a market warning. These are specific to the plot and realm.
2 months: 1 star
4 months: 2 stars
6 months: 3 stars
12 months: Minecraft block + displayable trophy
The trophy is one time and will have your name on it.
Moreover, every 6 month streak with no market warning will award you $50,000 in-game which is roughly 1-2 months of free rent!
You will also be able to quickly earn a day’s rent by catching fish unique to this area. To honour the amazing builders, they will have fish named after them. There will also be a custom Market fish.
Other than the server-wide rules, there are some additional things players need to follow when using the server Market. Market Warnings are separate to punishments from breaking server rules. These are only used to track whether your plot will be removed. If you receive a Market Warning, staff will mail you.
If your plot is removed, staff will return everything to you and send a mail. If they are unable to, they will be safely stored. If this happens, set up chests at your base and let us know the coordinates through /report or a Support Ticket on Discord. This will give staff a place to return your items without you needing to be online.
Once a month, to ensure plots are being utilised, staff will check the amount of chests in stock. Depending on the size, your plot must meet a minimum amount. Failing this requirement will result in a Market Warning. Note: as long as you meet minimum stock, you may advertise your Player Warp. Plots cannot be used solely for advertisements.
Pre-built and Small: 3 sell OR buy chests
Medium: 8 sell chests
Large: 10 sell chests
Art: 1 sell chest
The count excludes: overpriced items, written books, individual art pieces, maps, donation chests, and head blocks.
Overpriced refers to an extreme value (such as $1000 for 1 dirt) intended to increase your stock count without being genuinely for sale.
In the context of art, one piece of art regardless of size counts as 1 shop. A 4x4 art with 16 shops selling each piece will only count as 1 shop. We suggest putting all pieces into a shulker to save space, so you only need 1 shop to sell that shulker.
The count includes: Crate items and chests set up by someone else.
2. If your plot fails a sweep, you will receive a Market Warning. You will get 5 days to get sufficient chests in stock. Failure to do so will result in a removal.
You can get 3 warnings a year, where the 4th failure will result in your plot being removed without warning.
Successfully passing sweeps will award you stars on the corner of your plot. Do not attempt to imitate this by placing them yourself.
3. Upon renting a plot, you must have sufficient items in stock within 5 days. You can take your time with the actual building.
4. If your rent expires and someone else doesn't take your plot, we will give you a 3 day grace period to rent it again before it's removed.
If someone else takes your plot, that’s fair game and we cannot force them out. Staff will take your plot down and return all of your items.
Do not abuse this for free rent. If your plot expires for a third time in a year, it will be removed. Make sure you extend it and restock every month.
5. You cannot bypass the plot limit through alts or another player. Do not bypass plot size limits, such as by growing plants to exceed the border.
Merchant rank and higher can own either 1 Shop plot and 1 Art plot, OR 2 Art plots. See /arm limit.
This is realm specific. For example, you are allowed to own 2 plots on Blue and 2 plots on Yellow.
While others are allowed to rent on your plot, do not abuse this to give someone an extra plot. You also cannot hold a plot to resell it to someone else.
6. You cannot buy items from another market plot to restock or sell in your own market plot. Doing so will result in a Market Warning.
If you suspect someone is restocking their plot through yours, make a Support Ticket.
We can only enforce this within the server Market, not in PWs due to checking limitations. This rule is to protect total supply in the market.
7. No NSFW is allowed whatsoever. As an official server warp, we will be stricter about NSFW and will take down anything inappropriate without warning.
8. No griefing. If a plot has items but is unrented, tell staff so they can take it down. If you do rent it, you are still not allowed to take anything from it. Doing so will result in a regular punishment, not a Market Warning.
9. Notices must be for a plot you own. But if your plot expires, you won’t be expected to delete your notice.
Modifying other signs on the noticeboard is considered griefing.
Writing a notice for a plot you don’t own will be removed. Repeat offenses may result in a regular punishment.
10. Sellers can ban specific players from using their chest shops. If this happens, you cannot bypass the ban through an alt or by asking someone else to buy for you. Doing so may result in a regular punishment.
If you know what plot you want to get to, use /arm tp <number> Example: To go to Prebuilt 1, type /arm tp p1
If you want to look for a specific item, use /qs find <item>. Typing this from spawn should cover the whole market and return coordinates of chest shops. Example: For custom enchants, /qs find book
If something you want is out of stock, you can mail the owner with /mail send <IGN> Example: /mail send Gengyen Hi! I was at your plot p1 and wanted to buy Gears I, can you tell me once you’ve restocked it? Thank you!
If you are muted, use /qs amount <#> to interact with shops. Example: To buy 1 Gears I, /qs amount 1
You can find an empty plot by walking around, or through /arm GUI
Click the compass to search for an available region
Pick the size shop you want (prebuilt, small, medium, large) or art
Click any plot number and then teleport to the sign
Right click a plot sign to rent. Right click again to extend the rent. You can pay up to 28 days in advance. The server will remind you if your rent is nearly over.
Crouch right click to unrent a plot early. It will refund 90% of the remaining rent.
Once you’ve rented a plot, find your sign at the noticeboard area and type in what you offer. Larger plots get more signs to write on.
Art plots don’t get a noticeboard sign. If you own a shop plot, you can advertise your art plot there. Rank Explorer+ can own up to 1 of each, or 2 Art plots.
Make sure to stock your plot at least once a month so you have the required number of shops.
Hold the item you want to sell, look at a container, and type /qs amount <price> then fill up the chest. Example: Hold 64 dirt and do /qs amount 100 to sell a stack for $100.
/qs history: Displays past transactions and statistics
Use /arm add member <IGN> to allow someone to modify your plot and set up their own chests. This will count towards your stock total. However, you cannot abuse this to essentially give someone else multiple plots.
Use /qs add staff <IGN> while looking at a chest to allow someone to restock your shop for you.
You can set a custom entry message through /arm flageditor
You can set where you want players to teleport to with /arm settplocation <plot> Example: /arm settplocation p1 sets where someone will warp to when they do /arm tp p1
If you don’t want someone using your shops, you can ban them from individual chests. Look at the shop and type: /quickshop permission user set <IGN> quickshop-hikari.blocked This has to be repeated for each shop. If you suspect someone is bypassing your ban, please make a Support Ticket.
The ability to block individual players from plots, as one can from their claim, was a highly requested feature. However, we were unsuccessful in implementing this. The existing feature of claim bans only functions with claims made with the golden shovel. Market plots are protected by a different plugin, which only supports three entry rules:
If the owner and members can enter
If non-members can enter
There's no option to block a single individual. Even if there was, some people expressed concerns regarding blocked players reaching shops from outside the plot boundary. However, this is considered evasion, and would be punished.
As a result, the only option we could offer was banning from individual shops. While this is tedious, it’s better than nothing and it works outside of the market too.
If someone is bothering you outside of shops, you can use /ignore <IGN>. This will hide their messages in chat and won’t let them DM you. If you still have issues, please make a Support Ticket on Discord.
Until December 2021, the server had the Forest and Mushroom markets with 12 plots each. At 24 plots per realm, they were always full and in high demand. Many shops were inactive and not stocked in months, so active players had to wait for its rent to expire and quickly take it.
The market team was created in 2020 to conduct market sweeps. We set rules such as requiring a minimum number of chests in stock, and restocking at least once a month. This allowed us to remove inactive plots, allowing for more variety through active sellers.
However, with the condensed design, markets were very laggy for some players.
Moreover, the inner 4 plots blocked the view to others, and gained most of the traffic. This made it unfair for the 8 plots in the outer ring.
Player Warps were added in 2019 and were developing slowly.
It was time for a refresh. The build team created the second markets: Forest and Tropical.
They had more plots, 16 each for 32 per realm.
They introduced 3 types of sizes with varying rent to offer more options.
Plots were much more spread out to reduce lag.
Large plots were put at the back for optimal visibility and to spread out traffic.
Everyone was given access to fly and warps were set at each individual plot.
Rent was capped at 12 days to ensure the owner played every month, to avoid inactive players owning plots.
Unfortunately, other issues arose:
Plots were too spread out, demotivating buyers.
Market rules became too strict. Coupled with higher rent, fewer and fewer people rented. Empty plots turned away buyers even more.
While the map was beautiful, some elements hindered visibility. The decor took away from each plot's design, as some renters felt they had to fit the themes.
Lastly, player warps became very popular. They allowed players complete freedom for almost the same price—$100k a month for a personal warp vs $75k a month for a market plot subject to market rules. So as the market declined, players made their own shops and malls using PWs. This was never addressed by Markets 2.0.
This brings us to our third and final revision. We still believe in the unique advantage of markets, and wanted to build something that was a mix of its predecessors. After extensive surveys and 3 years of plans and delays, it's finally here!
Plots are more spread out than 1.0 but less than 2.0. Each plot has its own chunk to reduce lag and avoid overlapping restrictions like with item frames.
Rather than 2, there will only be 1 market, with 20 plots per realm to avoid empty plots. This was reduced to acknowledge the popularity of PWs.
We kept a loose forest theme with less decor in the plot area. This gives plots more room for creative freedom and less distraction.
The area outside the plots is magnificent, with a lot to do and explore to attract more traffic.
Rules are relaxed. They were first made at a time when markets were full and plots were scarce. Now, you will only need to have a certain number of stocked shops. For example: 10 sell chests for large plots, which used to be 14.
Players will still be able to fly and teleport to individual plots.
There's a noticeboard below spawn for plots to advertise and draw in buyers.
There's a dedicated area below that for art-only plots.
Plots will now show an entry message displaying either the rent or who owns it.
The rent cap has increased to 28 days as 12 was too restrictive.
Pre-built plots were added for renters who don't want to build their own, allowing for quick set up and sales.
Rent has decreased so a large is $60k a month.
Large and medium plots are 1 block taller.
The build took inspiration from players through the community build event.
