The Artmap plugin is a fun and creative way to bring out your inner artist ideas and put them into the game! To open the GUI do /artmap
and get started browsing there.
To start off with, you're going to need to collect tools in order to be able to use your dyes.
Paint Bucket | Used to paint large areas at once. Left click is to fill, while right click is to undo. |
Compass | This is used to flip your artwork vertically or horizontally. Left click flips your canvas horizontal while right click flips it vertical. |
Feather | This is used to lighten colors you already have on the canvas. You can do this one time. Used the same as paint, left for single, right and hold to make lines. |
Coal | Opposite to feather, this darkens colors. You can do this twice. Used the same as paint, left for single, right and hold to make lines. |
Sponge | This is used to see what color was used in a spot. Think of a ms paint eyedropper! |
In order to even be able to use artmap, you're going to need some colors to paint with! Here's a current list of all items used and their corresponding color. Left click is to color a single pixel, while right click and hold is to make lines. You can also click right click once to make a pixel.

Thanks to SupermomMC for the following table.
Now that you've gathered up your tools and dyes, you're going to need your easel and canvases! You can find the recipe using /artmap
and clicking on the crafting table labeled recipes. First things first, you'll need your easel, and canvas.
Items needed to craft an easel:
Items needed to craft a canvas:
In order to place your easel, just place it as any item normally, and then right click it with the canvas to add one. You right click the easel to sit you at it to begin painting. Select a color and left/right click while holding the color to paint. Left clicking allows you to only place singular pixels while right clicking and holding down lets you drag and make lines. You can also place singular pixels right clicking once and not holding down your right click button.
If you would like to take a break from painting, you can exit the easel by pressing crouch. Your art will save and will remain there on the easel for you to get back to at a later date.
WARNING: To break an easel you can crouch and right click it, but keep in mind this will destroy any art you have on the easel. It will NOT save.
Once you're done being Picasso, you're going to want to save your art. There's two ways of doing this.
/art save [name]
Items needed to craft a paintbrush:
Now that you've finished, you can view your art under /artmap
and selecting the artworks category. You can view other players artworks here as well.
To copy your artwork for reselling you need to place it in a crafting table, with some empty maps.
NOTE: You can only copy your own artworks, not other players.
